Profile
Giuseppe Civitarese, psychiatrist, Ph.D. in psychiatry and relational sciences, is a training and supervising analyst in the Italian Psychoanalytic Society (SPI), and a member of the American Psychoanalytic Association (APsaA) and of the International Psychoanalytic Association (IPA). He lives and is in private practice in Pavia, Italy. He lectures in Italy and internationally and publishes widely on various subjects including the theory of the analytic field, Bion and the post-Bionian psychoanalysis, psychoanalytic criticism. He is the past Editor-in-chief of the Rivista di Psicoanalisi, the official journal of the Italian Psychoanalytic Society. He is among the recipients of the 2022 Sigourney Award, which rewards outstanding work throughout the world that has advanced psychoanalytic thought and principles
